The Macedonian band Super Nova lays its claim to be the first Yugoslavian Hip-hop band. It is certainly the first band that started rapping in the languages of ex-Yugoslavia: Serbo-Croatian and Macedonian.
An original mixture of Pop, Rock and Rap and a powerful live presence was the main strength of the band. Having steady members was its weakness. Numerous Macedonian musicians passed through the band, formed by Viktor Mastoridis. The lyrics were mainly about the hypocrisy of the society, as well as genuine love themes.
The album Rapovanje is nothing else but a collection of studio and demo recordings that the band managed to make in the period of 1985-1989 in Skopje and Belgrade.
