Buktop (a pseudo-Greek spelling of Viktor) is a professional solo performer who sings and plays Greek bouzouki and baglamas.
Using backing tracks, Buktop is able to perform Greek and Balkan music to a high standard, enabling for a pleasant evening of full-on party and dance.
If a quieter but musically rewarding evening is desired, Buktop can create an excellent atmosphere singing and playing the acoustic guitar only, with a more sophisticated choice of old and contemporary Greek and Balkan music, providing for a unique and unforgettable music event.
Having own PA equipment and a car makes him flexible and available at any London, South East or East of England destination, including short notice.
Buktop performs Greek instrumentals as well as songs ranging from Folk (Dimotika), Rebetika, Laika, Entehna and of course, Touristika (“Touristic”, the ones popular in the West). If you are familiar with the Greek rhythms, there's plenty of Hasapiko, Hasaposerviko, Tsifteteli, Zeimbekiko etc. Butkop sings songs by Zambetas, Dalaras, Vamvakaris, Tsitsanis, Kazantzidis, Lemonopoulos etc.
Further up the road, Buktop plays a wide array of music from the Balkans: folk and traditional music from many ex-Yugoslavian regions, as well as Yu-Rock repertoire consisting of songs by Bajaga, Belo Dugme, Balasevic etc.
Of course, as an all-round musician, Buktop is capable of adding some well known Pop songs, if the situation needs it: Beatles, Eric Clapton, Sting etc.
In the winter season, the repertoire is spiced up with a selection of Christmas Carols, performed on a Greek bouzouki which is a great fun.
Buktop can be hired through his agents, Freak Music.
